Although already stated, it is worth saying again: “a good editor shoots, and a good shooter edits”.  Staying up to date on the latest cameras, codecs and formats allows me to quickly choose the right tool for the job.   In addition, I delight in light.  With the ultimate goal to make the image that hits the sensor the best as possible, controlling the light to refine and shape is essential.  After all, the initial capture is the foundation to which everything else is built upon.
